Mindfulness & Movement: Momentum to Getting Unstuck (PURE Yoga)

In this workshop, learn how to break old habits and create healthier ones over time. Experience embodied mindfulness and tailored meditation tools to help anchor and transform your perspective. You’ll gain new awareness about your default patterns — the ones that weigh on you –the ones that keep you from moving forward. By learning how to listen to and decode your body’s signals, you’ll have an opportunity to release old patterns and create new healthy ways of moving through your life. There will be movement, mindfulness meditations, body scanning techniques and journaling included in the workshop.
You’ll leave this workshop with a concrete plan to step into your life, off of the mat, in new ways while feeling more confident, free and in control of your inner world, your body and your mind.
Rachel Shanken is the founder of MindBodyWise and creator of MindBodyWise therapy. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Pure Yoga-trained Registered Yoga Teacher. Rachel specializes in mind-body approaches to healing trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and grief/loss. Her philosophy is simple: what you seek is already within you. Rachel uses a whole-body, client-centered approach and is passionate about supporting people with learning to listen to their own internal wisdom, assisting them with connecting to what they really want and helping to empower them in taking steps toward achieving their goals.
Karen Nourizadeh has worked with thousands of stressed New Yorkers, who suffer from anxiety, tension and pain. Her expertise is in helping others to create internal peace and harmony in order to balance the oft chaotic outer environment. Karen brings a practical, articulate and compassionate perspective to the corporate world as a presenter and lecturer on mindfulness, meditation, breathing and stress management. Her clients have included NBC, ABC, Kate Spade, Cosmopolitan, American Express, Saks Fifth Avenue, Tishman-Speyer and many others. Karen can be found regularly at Pure Yoga where she teaches classes, trainings and workshops related to mindfulness, meditation, stress management, life purpose and yoga practice.
